Celentis, a brand of Opticalsens, S.L., emerges from the collaborative efforts of the Interuniversity Institute for Research in Molecular Recognition and Technological Development (IDM) and the technology transfer specialist company TRL+. This groundbreaking partnership, formalized in a ceremony presided over by the rectors of the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) and the Universitat de València (UV), José Capilla and Mavi Mestre, respectively, marks a pivotal moment in Spanish university history. Joining the ceremony were Luis Morró, CEO of TRL+, and the researchers of Opticalsens.

Salvador Gil Grau

Professor of Chemistry at the UV and member of the IDM.


His main lines of research are: Synthesis of natural products, study of photoinduced damage, chemosensors of cations, anions, nerve agents and other species of biological interest. Closed mesoporous materials with molecular gates for the detection and controlled release of bioactive substances.

Pablo Gaviña Costero

Professor of Organic Chemistry at the UV and member of the IDM.

His main lines of research are: The design and synthesis of chemosensors and molecular probes, for the chromo-fluorogenic detection of cations, anions, hazardous gases, biomarkers or drugs of abuse, and the development of mesoporous silica nanomaterials with molecular gates, for the controlled release of drugs or dyes.

Silvia Rodríquez Nuévalos

PhD in Chemistry from the UV and member of the IDM.

Silvia has developed her research work at the Institute of Molecular Recognition and Technological Development (IDM) of the University of Valencia (UV) and the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV). She has a Master’s degree in organic chemistry. She has experience as a laboratory technician and development of chemical sensors for the detection of toxic substances and drugs.

Tania Mariel Godoy Reyes

PhD in Chemistry from the UPV and member of the IDM.

Master in sensors for industrial applications by the UPV. She has experience in the development of nanomaterials with molecular gates for the controlled and selective release of active substances.

Jordi Hernández Contreras

PhD student in the Department of Organic Chemistry and manager of the IDM at the UV.

Master’s degree in organic chemistry. He has experience in the field of immunochemistry, as well as in the development of chromogenic and fluorogenic sensors for the detection of chemical submission drugs.

Pau Arroyo Máñez

PhD, full professor at the Department of Organic Chemistry of the UV and member of the IDM.

Experience in computational simulation techniques in organic chemistry for the study of reaction mechanisms, molecular properties and rational drug design.

José Antonio Sáez Cases

Permanent Professor of the Department of Organic Chemistry of the UV and member of IDM.

Main current lines of research: chemosensors of anions, nerve agents, small organic molecules and heavy metals; materials for the detection of tumor hypoxia and its treatment through controlled release of drugs.

Eva María Garrido García

PhD in Chemistry from the UPV and member of the IDM.

During her doctoral thesis she has carried out the development of molecular and nanostructured sensors for the detection of substances of interest specialized in the detection of drugs of abuse.

Beatriz Lozano Torres

PhD in Chemistry from the UPV and member of the IDM.

Her doctoral thesis is focused on the development of probes, prodrugs and drug delivery systems targeting senescent cells. Marie Curie Individual Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Cambridge, developing therapeutic nanomaterials for the treatment of pancreatic cancer.

Estela Climent Terol

PhD from the Universitat Politècnica de Valencia and member of the IDM.

Miguel Servet Researcher at IIS La Fe and in the Nanomaterials and Sensors Group of the IDM of the UPV. She has more than 15 years of experience in the study of functionalized organic-inorganic hybrid materials with applications in controlled release processes and in the detection of different substances of interest, as well as in the incorporation of these materials into paper strips for the development of rapid tests.

PhD from the Jaume I University and member of the IDM.

Leading expert in supramolecular chemistry with more than 15 years of experience in international scientific research in the field of supramolecular chemistry and molecular recognition in Spain, UK and France.
